A portal allowing direct access to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, has been launched for public use.
The president inaugurated the portal, 'Rayyithunge Adu' which translates as the ‘voice of the people’, during the second session of the ‘Ahaa’ forum held at Sultan Park on Friday.
The portal paves the path for the public to directly voice their concerns and share their opinions with the president.
The initiative aligns with the president's policy to listen and work closely with the people.
While delivering his first-ever presidential address to the People’s Majlis on 5 February 2024, the president had announced that the portal would be launched.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the president shed light on the significance of working closely with the people while serving them.
Muizzu expressed his commitment to establish a transparent and accountable government, free from doubt and urged the people to utilize the portal.
The president also promised to strive to achieve its objectives.
President Muizzu earlier expressed commitment to seek public opinion and keep up with the people. In this effort, he has introduced multiple initiatives to better connect with the public.
The president began undertaking tours of outlying atolls, within the first three months of his presidency.
Further, a video series titled ‘Raees ge Javaabu’ which translated to ‘the president’s answer’ was launched as well, where the president will answer questions by the public.
In addition to this, the president has pledged to hold general forums every two months where members of his Cabinet of Ministers participate, called the 'Ahaa' series, and to conduct forums every three months where he meets the people directly and answers their questions.
