All the development plans envisioned for Villingili island of Gaaf Alif atoll, will be a reality soon, says President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The president made these remarks while speaking to residents of the island on Thursday.
Speaking to the island community, President Muizzu revealed that all of his pledges for the development of Villingili would be completed during his five-year presidential term.
Highlighting that his administration will work closely with the residential community to address their concerns regarding the island's development plans, President Muizzu stated that he would prioritize regional development to achieve sustainable development.
Further, he stated that the wants and needs of the people will be prioritized as well, including on improving the country's economic situation and promoting regional development.
Shedding light on the 20-year master plan of his administration to develop urban centers, Muizzu stated that Villingili island would be among the regions to be developed as an urban center.
In addition to this, Muizzu highlighted that small populations will be prompted to migrate to the areas in the long run, by introducing quality services to these regions.
The president also shed light on the economic situation of the Maldives, adding that the government had inherited a massive debt when he took office.
