The government will recover the lost sea territory of the Maldives.
This was declared by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in a video message to the public, on the occasion of the 46th Martyrs' Day on Sunday.
In his message, the Maldivian leader said that his administration would recover the lost territory of the Maldivian waters and that it would not be accessible to foreign armed troops henceforth.
Extending greetings and best wishes to his people on the occasion, President Muizzu urged them to stay loyal and faithful to the country.
He also pushed the Maldivian people to show admiration and respect for the religion as well as to strive hard to prevent tragedies.
In addition to this, he highlighted Ali Rasgefaanu or Sultan Ali’s sacrifice for the country’s freedom.
Shedding light on the important lesson that victory is granted to the righteous regardless of limited land or population, the president touched upon the extent of Sultan Ali's bravery, his faith as well as his love and devotion to the country.
Muizzu noted that Martyrs' Day has taught several significant national lessons, which can only be understood by thoroughly analyzing the history of the island nation.
