The members of the council of Kandoodhoo Island of Thaa atoll have briefed President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on the island community’s most important development needs.
This was done during a meeting held with members of the Kandoodhoo council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC), on Wednesday.
During the meeting held at the secretariat of the Kandoodhoo council, councilors shed light on the challenges facing the provision of services at the island’s health center as well as the facilities the island community requires.
Discussions also revolved around transportation impediments the islanders have been experiencing, as well as the declining condition of the island’s harbor.
The councilors also shed light on the necessity of an ATM and advocated for the construction of an airport on the island.
The meeting saw members of the island’s WDC sharing concerns related to budgetary constraints.
Listening to these concerns, the president assured the council and WDC members that he would work to provide amicable solutions for these issues, in consultation with the relevant ministries.
