President of the Bar Council, Ismail Wisham has passed away.
Wisham passed away some time on Wednesday night.
RaajjeMV was unable to confirm the cause of his death at the time of publishing.
Wisham, who served as the Assistant Attorney General during the long tenure of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, was appointed as the President of the Bar Council on 12 June 2022.
In a post on social media platform ‘X’, members of the Executive Committee, Bar Council and the Secretariat offered their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones on the tragic passing of their president.
Wisham had experience in the legal field and had proved his resilience with his diligent work in the field.
