Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has arrived in Geneva, Switzerland on an official visit.
The vice president’s visit to Geneva is to attend the high-level event to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Human Rights 75) to be held in Geneva.
He arrived in Geneva on Saturday evening.
The Human Rights 75 event will proceed from December 11 – 12.
The Maldivian VP is scheduled to join the opening ceremony panel discussion on human rights at the Human Rights 75 high-level event, which is convened by the Office of the United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights, co-hosted by the government of Switzerland.
VP Latheef will also attend the roundtable on ‘The Future of Human Rights, Environment and Climate’ at the high-level event.
He is also scheduled to hold important meetings with dignitaries from several countries as well as heads of UN agencies.
VP Latheef headed to Geneva after the conclusion of his recent official visit to China, to attend the ‘China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation’.
