President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been invited to attend the fourth Conference of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) to be held in Antigua and Barbuda next year.
The invitation was extended by Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne, during a meeting held with the Maldivian leader on Saturday.
The fourth Conference of Small Island Developing States (SIDS) is to be held in Antigua and Barbuda during May 2024.
The meeting was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on the sidelines of the 28th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).
Discussions at the meeting revolved around priority areas for the two Small Island Developing States including environment, climate change as well as tourism cooperation.
The call was concluded with both leaders expressing their mutual eagerness to develop deeper collaboration between the two countries.
Maldives and Antigua and Barbuda established diplomatic relations on 25 March 2002.
