A new Special Envoy for Climate Change has been appointed.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu made the appointment on Wednesday.
As such, Ali Shareef was appointed the Special Envoy for Climate Change.
Further, several State Ministers were also appointed to government ministries.
The ceremony to present their Letters of Appointment was held at the President’s Office on Wednesday.
Lubna Mohamed Zahir was appointed as a Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology, Mohamed Thariq Ahmed was appointed as a Minister of State for Economic Development and Trade and Dr. Amzath Ahmed was appointed as a Minister of State for Fisheries and Ocean Resources.
Further, Abdul Razak Ibrahim was appointed as a Minister of State for Sports, Fitness and Recreation, alongside Mohamed Shahuruzziyad as a Minister of State for Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage and Mariyam Fizaana Rashyd as a Minister of State for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development.
Other appointments President Muizzu made on Wednesday include Dr. Abdul Raheem Hasan, Fathimath Mohamed and Ahmed Shafeeu as Ministers of State for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Ahmed Munaz as a Minister of State for Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts and Mohamed Ibrahim as a Minister of State for Cities, Local Government and Public Works.
