Security officers close-off parliament premises
Security officials are only allowing the parliament’s administrative and secretariat staff into the premises

Parliament security officials have been instructed to not allow parliamentarians into the premises on Monday.
An official from the parliament secretariat said that the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) which provides security services to the parliament had physically locked-down it gates.
However, the official had not specified where or from which office the instruction to keep the premises locked-down came from.
Security officials are only allowing the parliament’s administrative and secretariat staff into the premises.
While parliamentarians are effectively barred from entering the premises, voting on the 45-signature no-confidence motion filed by members of the opposition is scheduled for Monday.
