The Department of National Registration (DNR) will issue ID cards despite the government holidays today and tomorrow.

The agency said in a statement on Tuesday that ID cards for people over the age of 18 who need to vote in the second round of the presidential election will be issued on these two days.

The DNR had earlier asked people to submit applications before 21st of this month for expired ID cards and 18-year renewal cards.

The ID cards will be issued from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on the two days.

Today is a public holiday in the country to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Thursday was closed in connection with the day.

The second round of voting of the Presidential Election will be held on Saturday.

282,804 people are eligible to vote in the election. This includes 409 new voters.
