President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has unveiled the newly developed harbor of Hulhudhoo Island in Addu City.
The event was part of President Solih's ongoing tour of the islands of the city on Thursday.
The new harbor will enhance accessibility and safety for residents and visitors, facilitating transportation and trade.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) completed the Hulhudhoo harbor development project.
The Harbor Development Project of Hulhudhoo include, 88,623cbm of new harbor basin dredging operations, construction of a 742m quay wall, a 50m breakwater and a 25m groyne.
Scope of works also include installation of harbor pavement, construction of a bridge, a ramp, and installation of harbor lights.
The value of the project is MVR 66.3 million.
Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has made significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes improving the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
