Alcohol bottles under the custody of the police station in Fonadhoo island of Laamu atoll, have been destroyed.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the alcohol bottles were destroyed by the Fonadhoo Police Station on August 16.
They are among the many paraphernalia brought into police custody in connection with different cases.
Destroyed on Wednesday were 31 bottles of alcohol and 23 cans of beer.
The destroyed alcohol and beer were confiscated by officers between 21 May 2023 and 09 August 2023, in connection with 12 different cases.
The police institution revealed that the bottles were destroyed under the supervision of the relevant police team and committee, as well as under the set legal procedure for it.
