Some of the development projects initiated in Molhadhoo island of Haa Alif atoll that have been completed, were inaugurated on Wednesday.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated the projects during his ongoing campaign tour of Haa Alif atoll, as part of his campaign for re-election in the upcoming Presidential election.
Inaugurated in Molhadhoo island on Wednesday include the island’s newly upgraded harbor, a new powerhouse as well as the Molhadhoo FENAKA office.
The ceremonies for each of these projects were held separately on the island.
The upgraded harbor of Molhadhoo measures 645 feet in length and 250 feet in width and will facilitate the efficient transportation to and from the island which will in turn resolve the numerous challenges the island community has been facing.
Three times larger than the previous one, the island’s new powerhouse was also inaugurated on Wednesday, alongside the FENAKA office that can now accommodate 30 employees.
The projects mirror the administration’s commitment to improve electricity services across the archipelago nation.
The incumbent administration has made significant progress in ensuring equitable development across all inhabited islands across the nation, as well as efforts to improve the living standards of citizens and enabling them to live dignified lives.
