President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has officially inaugurated the water and sewerage network in Foakaidhoo island of Shaviyani atoll.
The physical work of establishing a water supply system in Foakaidhoo was wrapped up and the system was handed over to FENAKA Corporation on 24 March 2022.
The operating license was issued to FENAKA on 23 May 2022.
The project to develop a water and sewerage network in Foakaidhoo was contracted back in June 2019.
The project was valued at MVR 16.9 million.
Providing basic amenities like water and sanitation across the scatter of islands comprising the Maldives, is one of the top priorities of the Solih administration.
President Solih visited Foakaidhoo island as part of his recent brief tour of Shaviyani atoll to officially launch his re-election campaign.
The Solih administration has made massive progress in their efforts to ensure equitable development across all inhabited islands including completing development projects that have enhanced the living standards of citizens and enabled them to live dignified lives.
