The physical work of the road construction project in Ukulhas island of Alif Alif atoll, has commenced.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed this on Thursday.
As such, providing the latest updates of the Ukulhas road construction project to the public via Twitter, MTCC revealed that they began the physical work of the project on July 4.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to construct 10 roads measuring 2,678 meters.
Further, the installation of a stormwater management system, settlement tanks and cable junction boxes also come under the scope of the project.
The company will also be installing a sidewalk paving measuring 4,193 square meters, a carriageway measuring 14,452 square meters as well as street markings.
Road marking, zebra crossing, speed breakers and road safety sign boards are also to be installed as part of the project.
The Ukulhas road construction project is valued at MVR 56.11 million.
