Vice President Faisal Naseem has urged parents to incorporate chores and religious duties into the school holiday routines of their children.
VP Naseem made this appeal during his speech at the Mohamed Qasim Preschool graduation ceremony for 2022-2023, held at Huravee School in Hulhumalé on Tuesday.
As such, speaking at the event, the Vice President urged parents and guardians to teach their children the importance of religious duties and chores, during school holidays.
He said that these activities can assist children pick up essential life skills and values including responsibility, time management, and teamwork.
They can also provide them with a sense of community, purpose, and morality.
VP Naseem went on to urge parents and guardians to identify their children's strengths and to help children develop those strengths.
Highlighting that children should be trained in skills and that parents and teachers share the responsibility of developing children into skilled individuals, the Vice President urged parents to ensure their children become productive citizens and grow up to contribute to national progress.
Tuesday’s ceremony saw VP Naseem distributing scrolls to graduates from UKG1 to UKG8.
Established on 24 October 2021, Mohamed Qasim Preschool currently has 462 students, including 36 with special needs.
198 students graduated from the school in the academic year 2022-2023.
