Witnesses who were at the scene confirmed to RaajjeMV that the car caught fire while it was traveling.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) and relevant authorities had dispatched a team of officers to the scene shortly after, in an attempt to ensure public safety and security.
RaajjeMV was unable to attain a comment from the police institution at the time of publishing, regarding the cause of the fire.
