A fire has broken out on a boat travelling from Male' City, towards Rasgetheem island in Raa Atoll.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) disclosed that the fire broke out on Horizon 2. The fire started in the boat's engine room.

The incident was reported to MNDF at 19:16 pm. The Coast Guard Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) is currently operating to control the fire.

The boat caught fire at 3.04 nautical miles north of Four Seasons Resort (Landa Giravar) in Baa Atoll, says MNDF.

There were 10 people on board at the time of the incident. MNDF states they are all in good condition.
