Major Hussain Rasheed has been appointed as the Information Officer of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
MNDF revealed that Major Rasheed was appointed to the post on March 26.
MNDF’s Information Officer is tasked with officially providing information regarding the armed forces, to the media.
Other officials from the MNDF are prohibited from disbursing information regarding the authority, to any media in their personal capacity.
Such information may only be provided to the media through the MNDF Information Officer appointed for the purpose, or from a person authorized by the Integrated Headquarters for the purpose.
Major Rasheed’s appointment as MNDF’s Information Officer comes at a time Captain Hana Mohamed, who was earlier serving in the position had to leave the country on a course.
