PPM MP claims close connections between Minister Shainee, yellowfin tuna exporters

Mahibadhoo Constituency Parliamentarian and Parliamentary Group Member of ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM), Ahmed Thoriq has once again, lambasted Fisheries Minister Dr. Mohamed Shainee, calling his relationship with yellowfin tuna exporters ‘deeply undesirable’,

In a social media post, Thoriq claimed ‘multiple failures’ of Dr. Shainee, adding that many had noted the close relationship between the Minister and exporters.

‘Many fishermen see the Minister maintains deeply undesirable relationships with yellowfin tuna exporters,’ the statement read.

Dr. Shainee had not responded to the calls made by Raajje.mv; he responded to the message made by Raajje.mv journalist with a smile emoji.

The criticism of the Minister by the Parliamentarian, came at a time when rumors of defection of ruling Party MPs had risen.
