The Maldivian leader has offered condolences following the passing of the former President of China Jiang Zemin.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih extended his condolences in a message to the President of China, Xi Jinping on Wednesday.

In his message, President Solih stated that as China mourns the death of their former President Jiang Zemin, he extends sympathies to the people and President of China, on behalf of the government and people of Maldives.

He went on to highlight that the ex-President of China will be remembered as a visionary leader who made great strides in bringing socioeconomic progress for the people of China.

President Solih also noted that the former Chinese President will be remembered for his efforts in consolidating China’s role as a significant contributor on the international stage.

Before concluding his message, the Maldivian President conveyed his sincere condolences to the bereaved family of the late former President of China.
