The Maldivian Government has spent MVR 6.4 billion on Public Service Investment Programs (PSIP), thus far in 2022.
According to the statistics publicized by the Ministry of Finance on 22 November, 2022, the Maldivian government has spent MVR 6.4 billion on PSIP projects, by 17 November, 2022.
Statistics show that highest expenditure was made on water and sewerage development projects. As such a total of MVR 1.3 billion was spent on the sector this year.
These include MVR 01 billion on installation of water and sewerage systems in islands, MVR 59.5 million spent on sewerage system installation and MVR 196.3 million spent on water systems.
Ministry's statistics goes on to reveal that MVR 572 million was spent on housing and infrastructure projects, MVR 371.3 million on land reclamation, MVR 757.8 million on road construction and MVR 834.8 million on harbor development projects.
Additionally, the government has spent MVR 605.6 million on bridge development projects and MVR 482.1 million on airport development projects.
The government has so far spent; MVR 39.7 million on national security and public order, MVR 145.4 million on development of health services, MVR 349.9 million on education sector and MVR 612.5 million on environmental protection projects.
As such, MVR 199.4 million was spent on waste management projects, MVR 320.9 million was spent on coastal protection projects, MVR 78.3 million was spent on renewable energy projects and MVR 13.8 million was spent on water drainage systems.
By November 17, 2022, the Maldivian Government's expenditure has reached MVR 34.9 billion according to the Finance Ministry. As such, statistics show that the state spent MVR 23.7 billion as recurrent expenditure and MVR 8.5 billion as capital expenditure.
The government has also spent MVR 2.6 billion towards loan repayment and MVR 720.4 million was transferred to the Sovereign Development Fund.
Ministry of Finance revealed that the state has received MVR 23.7 billion as revenue, so far this year.
