Virgin Atlantic has announced that the airline will be commencing flights to Maldives in 2023
Virgin Atlantic has announced that the airline will be commencing flights to Maldives in 2023.
The English airline made the announcement on Thursday.
The airline is scheduled to commence the flights to Maldives during winter season of 2023. As such, the first flight is scheduled for 22 October 2023.
Virgin Atlantic states that tickets will go on sale on 30 November 2022.
Virgin Atlantic will be making three-times weekly flights to Maldives from London Heathrow.
The airline would be utilizing Boeing 787 Dreamliners for the Maldives operations.
Chief commercial officer at Virgin Atlantic, Juha Jarvinen said that the airline is thrilled to add Maldives as a new route to their flying portfolio.
He went on to say that the Maldives has always been an incredibly popular destination for Virgin Atlantic Holidays' customers.
The United Kingdom is among the top three tourist market for Maldives so far this year. As such, by November 09, Maldives has recorded 151,358 tourist arrivals from the UK. This is 10.9 percent of the total arrival figure.
