Joint counter-terrorism operation commences
A joint counter-terrorism operation has been launched.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the operation is a joint effort between the authority and the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The joint counter-terrorism operation will be carried out at the sea territories of southernmost Addu City as well as the capital, Malé City.
Further details have not been disclosed regarding the joint operation, however, the police institution revealed that they will provide more information as the operation develops.
Counter-terrorism operations have been conducted in several regions of the archipelago nation previously as well.
