Pres. confers National Awards for Special Achievement, Special Medals for Memorizing the Holy Quran

13 honorees received special medals for memorizing the Holy Quran

The President’s National Awards for Special Achievement and the Special Medals for Memorizing the Noble Quran have been conferred.

This year's National Awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the Republic Day celebrations on Friday evening and saw 52 individuals receive the National Award for Special Achievement and 13 honorees received special medals for memorizing the Holy Quran.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conferred the awards at the reception held at Dharubaaruge.

Recipients included 13 individuals who memorized the Noble Quran at the highest level, nine individuals for their achievements in attaining an MQA Level 10 qualification and publishing their research in an international journal, and 41 individuals for their achievements in the completion of their Level 7, 8 or 9 qualifications.

Further, it also includes an individual recognized for his talent, creativity and innovation through contributions towards national development.

The award is open only to youth with exceptional achievements.

An organization also received an award for its contributions to outshining in human resource development in the tourism industry.

The new and fifth category was introduced to coincides with the 50th-anniversary celebrations of tourism in the Maldives and recognizes the outstanding, creative and innovative contributions of tourism sector stakeholders and staff towards developing the industry and the nation, through tourism.

Individuals who were awarded for their achievements in attaining an MNQF Level 10 Qualification and for the successful publication of research in an international journal include:

  4. Dr. Abdulla Muthalib
  5. Dr. Aminath Shiyama

  9. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed

Further, the recipients of awards for their achievements in completing an MNQF Level 9 qualification at the highest standard and attaining first place in their cohort, or the highest grade for research project and dissertation are as follows:

The National Award for Special Achievement was awarded to Mohamed Akram for his exceptional creativity and innovation that contributed to national development.

Further, the award was also conferred to Capital Travel and Tours Pvt Ltd for exceptional achievements in developing human resources within the archipelago nation’s tourism industry.

The special medals for committing the Noble Quran to memory at the highest standard were conferred to the following:

President Solih congratulated all the winners of the national awards and special medals, while speaking at the ceremony.

In his address the President also touched on some important achievements by his government in the past four years, despite major challenges.
