Vilingili Constituency MP Saud Hussain has been summoned to Police on Friday.

He was asked to submit himself to Police at 10pm.

He was previously summoned to Police on allegations that he had attempted to assassinate High Court Judge Shujau Usman. Former Senior Policy Executive at the Education Ministry Ibrahim Haneef had been arrested in connection to this case as well.

The Parliamentarian was affiliated with the Yameen faction of the Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM). The summons began after he had revoked his support for the Government and pledged allegiance to the opposition movement.
