One of the most valuable lessons derived from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is to be accepting of each other’s’ difference and to coexist in harmony with strong fraternal bonds, says President Ibrahim Mohamed.

The President made this remark in his written statement to the nation on the occasion of Eid Milad ul-Nabi, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), on Saturday.

The President in his address, stated that the reason Muslims celebrate Eid Milad ul-Nabi is to remind ourselves of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) so that we can bless our lives in this world and the hereafter.

Additionally, the President stressed on the strong ties that have existed amongst Muslim communities for centuries, and attributed the Islamic empire’s past successes to the unity of Muslims and their acceptance of other cultures.

In his address, the President also reflected on how Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) promoted unity and urged Maldivians to make positive changes in their lives as we celebrate this auspicious occasion each year.

The President also encouraged all Muslims to be virtuous and to apply the tenets of Islam that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) demonstrated in their daily lives.
