President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih remains grateful for the positive contributions made by the Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) towards the economy of Maldives.
He said this during a meeting held with the senior management of Batelco on Friday, as part of his ongoing state visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Shedding light on the Bahraini Government’s leadership in expanding cooperation and cultivating mutually beneficial partnerships, President Solih expressed deep appreciation for Batelco in providing positive contributions towards the progress of the economy of Maldives.
Highlighting that his administration places high priority in reducing the prices of internet, the Maldivian leader expressed gratitude to Batelco for its contribution towards achieving this goal.
The meeting saw Batelco’s Chairman, Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa noting that the company recognizes technology as the foundation of any economy and was proud to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the ongoing state visit.
The president in turn, noted that the Cybersecurity agreement with Batelco will pave the way to explore connectivity with national, international and multinational cybersecurity and digital service providers.
The signing of the MoU between officials from Batelco and Dhiraagu followed the meeting.
The MoU is expected to enable Batelco to work closely with Dhiraagu and the National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) of the Maldives.
The Cybersecurity Services from Beyon Cyber W.L.L. explored under the Cybersecurity MoU with Batelco include Advisory and Consulting Services, Security Engineering Services, Cyber Defense Services, Security Assurance, Cyber Threat Intelligence and threat hunting service and Incident Response Services.
The meeting was joined by members of the Maldives’ delegation as well as the CEO and Managing Director of Dhiraagu, Ismail Rasheed.
