Maldives has bagged bronze at the SABA Women’s Basketball Championship held in the island nation, for a second time.

Maldives claimed the third spot of the championship and won bronze, after beating Bhutan with an exemplary result in the final game.

Maldives won the match 34 – 86.

This is the second consecutive time Maldives has won bronze at the SABA Women’s Basketball Championship.

Sri Lanka claimed the gold medal of the championship, after beating the Maldives’ team.

This is Sri Lanka’s second time claiming the SABA Basketball championship title.

Nepal won silver in the championship, which saw four teams participating in total.

In its first game in the championship, Maldives beat Nepal. However, the team lost to Sri Lanka in the second game.

With this, Maldives lost the opportunity to win both gold and silver at the championship.

Maldives initially participated in the tournament with an aim to bring home the championship title.
