Al-Hafiz Ahmed Nabeeh Abdul Gadir has been selected for the final of the 42nd King Abdul Aziz International Competition of the Holy Quran in Saudi Arabia.

Two participants have been sent from Maldives to the tournament. They were Nabeeh as well as Muhammad Yushau bin Zamzam. The competition is one of the largest international Quran recitation competitions in Saudi Arabia.

Nabeeh's selection to the final round of the competition is a great achievement for Maldives.

The participants were selected through an audition conducted by the National Center for the Quran. The audition was conducted by a panel of judges in the presence of parents. Six applicants submitted applications for the competition.

According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, 153 participants from 111 countries are participating in the tournament. These include those with PhD and Master's degrees in the field.

All expenses of the participants were borne by the organizers of the Quran competition.

After the announcement of the results, the participants are scheduled to return to Maldives on the 23rd of this month. The competition will give participants the opportunity to perform Umrah and a tour of Medina.

Alhafiz Ahmed Nabeeh Abdul Gadir also reached the final of an international Quran competition held in Dubai earlier this year.
