Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with the National Netball Team of Maldives
Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with the National Netball Team of Maldives.
VP Naseem met with the National Netball Team competing in the Asian Netball Championship on Saturday, as part of his unofficial visit to Singapore.
Highlighting that it was a pleasure to meet the members of the National Netball Team competing in the 2022 Asian Netball Championships in Singapore, VP Naseem congratulated the team on their first goal of qualifying for the Asian Indoor Games.
Additionally, he wished the team success in their next game.
The Maldivian National Netball Team got qualified to the Asian Indoor Games after defeating the Japan National Netball Team during the first round of the game.
The Maldivian team has so far competed against two teams. The Maldivian team lost the first match to Philippines, with a score of 59-41. The second match was against Brunei and the Maldivian team lost with a score of 40-50.
Even though the Maldivian Netball Team lost the two matches, they played well during both the games.
The Maldivian team will be playing two more games against Philippines and Brunei.
The 2022 Asian Netball Championship will be held until September 11. A total of 11 teams are competing in this game; Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Brunei, Hong Kong and Thailand.
