Himna will leave for Jamaica this month!

In addition to Himna, Ibadullah also has the opportunity to train in Jamaica

Maldives' fastest female runner Aishath Himna Hassan will leave for Jamaica this month on a three-year training program.

The Athletics Association said the ministry, the Olympic Committee and the association have worked together to provide Himna with the opportunity. Visa arrangements are currently being made, said Ahmed Munthagim, general secretary of the association.

Munthagim said 20-year-old Himna has a future in athletics. He said he hoped that like Saaid, Himna would make progress and achieve good results during the training period. Maldives' fastest runner Saaid Ahmed also trained in Jamaica.

Himna said she will make the most of the training opportunity and believes it is a great opportunity to move forward.

It is a great opportunity to take my career to another level. I will use this training to the best of my ability, to be a better athlete.
