Forty-five journalists have submitted their names for the Journalism awards held by Maldives Media Council.
The deadline to submit names expired on Thursday.
Maldives Media Council will disburse awards in reporting for the judicial sector, social, features political, business, sports, photo journalism and video journalism. Award in feature section was introduced this year.
Guidelines issued by the Council says that journalists have to have worked in a media agency for nine months from January to December end of last year.
The awards have been given the past three years, with winners receiving MVR 30,000. However, the Council is yet to announce how much they will disburse this year.
