Officers confiscated a total of 31 rubber packets

Police have arrested an individual from Maafushi island in Kaafu atoll with large quantities of what they believe to be narcotics.

Police on Friday arrested a 35-year-old in an operation they embarked on at around 19:30.

Officers confiscated a total of 31 rubber packets of a powdered substance that they believe to be narcotics.

The police’s Drug Enforcement Department (DED) is currently investigating the case.

On Thursday, the police had also seized 7 kilograms of cannabis that an individual attempted to import from Bangladesh.
