Hulhudheli island in Dhaal Atoll
A minor drowned in the island of Hulhudheli island in Dhaal Atoll Thursday evening.
Five-year old Jude Ahmed Shifau was found dead near the port area of the island.
Hulhudheli Island Council President Ismail Nizam said the minor was found around 1615hrs on Thursday. He said the child was taken to the health centre immediately.
However, he said the child was dead even when they had reached the centre with no visible injuries.
Jude was buried Thursday evening.
Nizam said an investigative team of Maldives Police Service was in the island. No comment has been issued by Police so far.
