Ooredoo Maldives has opened registration for the 11th season of Ooredoo Masrace.

Ooredoo opened the registration for the 11th season of Masrace on February 29. The aplications can be submitted via an online portal on Ooredoo Maldives website.

Ooredoo Masrace is an exciting fishing tournament held annually during Ramadan. The participating teams will compete in a Reef Fish Fishing competition throughout the month.

This years tournament is being held after a two year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Similar to the past years, this year's tournament also offers exciting prices. As such, Champion Team, based on the weight and quality of the fishes caught will receive a cash prize of MVR 50,000. The fisherman who reels in the heaviest catch will receive a prize of MVR 5,000 and the fisherman who catches the most fish will also receive the cash prize of MVR 5,000.

Stating that fishing has always been huge part of our culture, Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Maldives, Hussain Niyaz, encouraged youths of Maldives to take part in the tournament this year. He highlighted that Ooredoo Masrace has become an event where communities across the nation look forward to, during Ramadan, to take part as a fun activity that can be enjoyed with friends, family and colleagues.

Ooredoo stated that government institutions, corporates, and the general public are welcome to join the race as teams of twelve including a manager and coach.

The first round Ooredoo Masrace 2022 is scheduled to commence on 5th April 2022.

Registration for the tournament closes on 23rd March 2022.
