Police arrest 52-yo woman for possession

The police have on Sunday arrested two local women on separate drug offences.

A 19-year-old was caught in Maafushi of Kaafu atoll with five packets of what officers believe to be a narcotic substance. The police believe that she attempted to smuggle this into the high-security prison on the island.

Further, in Vilufushi island of Thaa atoll, the police have arrested a 52-year-old woman for possession.

Officers had searched her home in response to a report they had received.

They had found a film canister filled with what appears to be hash oil, a resin substance extracted from marijuana.
