Former President Mohamed Nasheed has thanked former Male’ City Mayor Mohamed Shihab and congratulated the newly elected Mayors of the three City Councils.
In a series of tweets posted on Sunday, Nasheed thanked former Mayor Shihab for his services. Nasheed said Shihab had served as Mayor ‘during these difficult years’ and commended for his ‘commitment and loyalty to the cause of justice as the Mayor of Male' City’.

He also extended his congratulations to Mayors Sifa Mohamed, Abdullah Sodiq and Abdullah Falaah Shareef, who had been elected as Mayors for Male’, Addu and Fuvahmulah cities respectively.

The three had run on MDP tickets.
All Council Members have been sworn in. Apart from a few Councils, all had elected their Presidents and Vice Presidents.
