The Golden Pride, an offshore tug ship registered under Dominica, has been docked near Uligamu island of Haa Alifu atoll.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the tug boat had to be docked due to choppy sea conditions and turbulent weather.

The vessel has been docked at Uligamu island since 15:00 on Friday.

It is reportedly carrying 25 individuals onboard and will depart once it is safe to travel.

The Golden Pride had reportedly sought permission from authorities before steering into Maldivian territory.
