15 injured in boat accident near resort in Kaafu atoll
About 15 people have been injured in the accident
Some of the injured individuals have been taken to the privately owned ADK Hospital for treatment
A boat travelling from Summer Island Resort, to the north of Kaafu atoll, has crashed into a vessel docked at the Reethi Rah Resort, injuring about 15 people onboard.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has confirmed that the incident has been reported to them, and that their sea ambulance services were active in transporting the injured individuals for treatment in capital city Malé.
The MNDF reported that most of the injured individuals are members of Summer Island's staff.
The boat's driver reported that the docked vessel had not been lit and therefore he was unable to see it.
Some of the injured individuals have been taken to the privately owned ADK Hospital for treatment.
