Central and Southern atolls of the Maldives will experience heavy showers for three more days, the Maldives Meterological Services (MET) has said.
The MET office said on Thursday said that the aforementioned regions would experience up to 50 millilitres of rain.
The office further said islands in the central region can expect further heavy showers and even flooding within the next 24 hours.
Southern regions will have moderate rain with winds gusting up to 17 miles per hour.
Turbulent weather since Wednesday has caused significant damages to property and homes, with a tornado sweeping through Addu City’s Hithadhoo district, and heavy showers flooding two-thirds of Naddellaa island.
