Maldives Immigration has caught a foreigner attempting to enter the country with another person’s passport.
Immigration revealed that the individual is a 30-year-old male, and that some contents of the passport were forged.
The individual’s nationality has not been disclosed.
Individuals caught in such acts are deported to the respective countries, in accordance with the country’s international conventions.
While the man was stopped at Velana International Airport with another person’s passport, there were a number of similar cases in the past few years.
Recently, Immigration together with the Maldives Customs Service and the Ministry of Science, Communication and Technology enhanced the country’s border control systems.
