MDP's 'parliamentary group' meeting

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on Monday night voted to nominate former President Mohamed Nasheed for speaker in the 19th parliament, and MP Eva Abdulla as deputy. Both were elected to the posts, in the first sitting of the 19th parliament, and the second session of the year, on Tuesday night. The 87 news MPs were sworn in prior to the sitting.
