Maziya Sports and Recreation continued their perfect start to the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League season with a commanding 3-0 win over Buru Sports Club on Tuesday night at the Galolhu National Stadium.
The defending champions were in control from the outset, striking twice in the first half before sealing the match with a third goal in the second. Hamza Mohamed opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, and just moments before the break, Naaiz Hassan doubled the lead with a clinical finish.
Buru had their share of chances but failed to convert, struggling to break through Maziya's disciplined defense. Ibrahim Aisam put the game beyond reach in the 59th minute, netting Maziya’s third and final goal of the night.
This latest win follows victories over Club Eagles and TC Sports Club, placing Maziya firmly at the top of the table with nine points from three matches.
Buru, who started their campaign with a win over Victory Sports Club and drew their second match against Club Eagles, will look to bounce back in their next fixture against Club Green Streets.
Maziya, meanwhile, continues to look like a strong title contender as the team builds momentum early in the season.
