United Victory (UV) claimed their first win of the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League season with an emphatic 4-1 comeback victory over TC Sports Club on Tuesday evening at the Galolhu National Stadium.
Despite falling behind just before halftime, UV turned the match around in spectacular fashion, led by a second-half hat-trick from forward Hussain Suhad Suhan.
TC broke the deadlock in the dying moments of the first half through Ali Rilwan, giving them a narrow lead heading into the break. But UV came out strong in the second half and needed just three minutes to level the score, courtesy of Suhad.
The momentum quickly shifted as Suhad struck again in the 51st minute to put UV in front. Just six minutes later, he completed his hat-trick, putting the game firmly in UV’s control. UV’s fourth and final goal came in the 84th minute, with Ishfaau Mohamed Firaq adding his name to the scoresheet to seal a convincing win.
Both teams entered the fixture after defeats in their season openers, UV falling to Odi Sports Club and TC losing to New Radiant SC. With this result, UV picks up a crucial three points and gains momentum heading into their next challenge.
Up next, UV will face defending champions Maziya Sports and Recreation, while TC looks to regroup ahead of the team’s clash against Club Valencia.
