The governments of Maldives and Singapore have signed three significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), marking a major step forward in strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation across key sectors.

President of the Maldives, Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, and the Prime Minister of Singapore, Lawrence Wong, participated in a ceremony for the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the Maldives and Singapore.

Three memoranda were signed during the ceremony:

  1. Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Maldives and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on Cooperation in Capacity Building
  2. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Tourism and Environment of the Republic of Maldives and the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment of the Republic of Singapore
  3. Memorandum of Understanding between Institute of Technical Education Republic of Singapore and the Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development of the Republic of Maldives for Cooperation in the fields of Higher Education, Educational Policy, Technical and Vocational Education and Research

The signing ceremony, held as part of the Maldivian leader’s official visit to Singapore, took place at the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
