The Maldives Meteorological Service (MMS) has revealed that the weather will be favorable throughout the ongoing Eid al-Adha holidays, but conditions are expected to worsen significantly by the end of the period.
Speaking on RaajjeTV’s ‘Fashaairu’ morning talk show on Thursday, Assistant Meteorologist at the Maldives Meteorological Service Hussain Waheed revealed that some islands will be affected by swell waves in the next 24 hours, but that the weather will generally be favorable.
Hussain Waheed went on to reveal that winds are expected to gust from the west and northwest at speeds between 8 and 18 miles per hour. While seas in the central Maldives will be moderately rough, conditions are not expected to hinder travel.
Noting that many people travel during the Eid al-Adha holidays, Hussain Waheed stated that the weather on Eid day will also be good. However, he said that the weather will worsen significantly from June 9.
Predicting that the weather will worsen significantly after the Eid holidays, the Maldives Meteorological Service has appealed to be mindful of the weather before traveling.
