Former Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO), Hussain Amru, has said that the current administration of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu wants to dismantle the businesses of ordinary citizens and enslave the people.
Speaking on RaajjeTV's "TV Talk" program, Amru said that the government is infiltrating all businesses across the island nation to dismantle ordinary businesses. He said that the government is working to enter the taxi business and the guesthouse business as well.
In addition to this, Amru said that all projects are now being assigned to companies with government shares, and private companies are being isolated. He said that as a result of giving many projects to companies with government shares, they will hire employees, and people who were working in the private sector will be forced to join government jobs.
Amru said that the current administration is working tirelessly to hire as many people as possible, as government employees and enslave them. He said that this is what the Maldives is currently observing.
Amru said that due to the current administration’s policy, the income of the people is decreasing day by day, and the people are becoming “very poor”. He warned of immense challenges ahead, claiming that the government is actively preparing to exploit these hardships to enslave the people.
