A young student at Huravee School in Hulhumalé has suddenly passed away.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) on Thursday revealed that the incident was reported to authorities in the morning.
MPS revealed that a student at Huravee School was taken to Hulhumalé Hospital after she suffered a medical emergency.
Police cited the hospital having confirmed that the student was already dead when brought in.
Deceased is a 13-year-old girl.
A reliable source told RaajjeMV that the girl died from a seizure and that there were no movements in her body when she was taken to the hospital. However, the exact nature of the medical emergency remains unclear.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the death.
