The coach of the Maldives national team competing in the U-17 SAFF Championship, slated to kick off in Bhutan on September 20, is Mohamed Adam. Ahmed Nimad will work as Mohamed Adam's assistant coach.

Ahmed ‘Maadey’ Shareef has been appointed as the manager of the Maldives U-17 national football team that will compete in the U-17 SAFF Championship.

Shareef is a former player who has played for Club Valencia and currently serves as a board member of Valencia.

Recently, the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) suspended Valencia due to issues related to the FAM election.

Recently, Shareef took the initiative to clean the FAM House located in Maafannu-ward of the capital Malé City.

FAM's affairs have deteriorated, with the organization facing significant administrative challenges at a time FAM House has also been in poor shape.

As such, the building has been trashed with empty food containers and discarded smoking paraphernalia, with national team jerseys strewn about in a disorderly manner and the ceiling on the verge of collapsing.

The building was cleaned under Shareef’s initiative.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, an employee of FAM said that Shareef did this on his own initiative and that he was joined in the effort by some veteran players who had previously played football.

Additionally, Asad Mohamed, who has been appointed as the kit manager of the U-17 national team, hails from Bangladesh.

When questioned by RaajjeMV, FAM revealed that Asad is a full-time employee at the association.
